Kevin McCarthy has worked in the safety industry for 23 years. He has 12 years as a Risk Control Consultant with Liberty Mutual Insurance, and 11 years as Occupation Health & Safety Manager for Stop & Shop Inc. Currently, Kevin works for FutureComp, a USI entity who provides self-insurance (Workers Compensation) coverage for the New England Educators Insurance Association (NEEIA). Kevin is responsible for providing Risk Control services to 34 higher education institutions in the state of Massachusetts. In his role, Kevin works with each institution to identify risk through detailed Loss analysis, job safety analysis while providing safety consulting resulting in control of occupational injury/illness. Additionally, Kevin works with the NEEIA board of directors, the current Safety Committee & Health and Wellness committee identifying complex problems and implementing creative solutions resulting in increased safety with a reduction in cost. Previously, Kevin worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Risk Control Consultant. He was responsible for working with accounts varying in size across the New England region educating, implementing, consulting customers on health and safety programs focusing in reducing overall risk to employees. Areas of focus for Kevin included safety on the general industry, motor vehicle safety, warehouse-based material handling, and ergonomics. Kevin received a Bachelor's of Science in Occupational Health and Safety from Keene State College and an Associates of Science in Hotel Resort Management from State University of New York, Delhi. Kevin lives in Franklin, Massachusetts with this wife and two sons and enjoys coaching youth lacrosse.
