CORE COMPETENCY RM TECHNICAL SKILLS: Leading industry risk management and fine art insurance specialists will present case studies, including tips and check lists on how their respective institutions mitigated fine art exposures internationally and during a major museum renovation. Additionally, a leading fine arts insurance broker will round out this presentation with fundamental tips on how to review loan agreements from lenders and provide you with the tools to ensure your institutions fine art/collection policy mirrors your loan agreement, which is contractual and legally binding between the borrower and the lender.

As a result of participating in this session, attendees will receive tip sheets on how to manage fine art collections at international locations and tips on mitigating your exposure during a major museum renovation. Sample loan agreements, condition reports, general facility report template and other pertinent resources will be included in the Fine Art Insurance Toolbox. The toolbox will be a useful resource for university risk managers by providing standards documents that can be adapted to streamline collection management and further protect the university’s valuable fine art objects, collection materials, archives and special library collections.
